FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 21, 2017
Ottawa, ON – I am excited to announce that I have joined the Status of Women Committee, along with my current role on the Fisheries and Oceans Committee. I am looking forward to joining the Committee as they continue their study on the Economic Security of Women in Canada, and working hard on behalf of all women and girls in South Shore—St. Margaret’s and across the country.
As House business gets back in full swing, the Fisheries and Oceans Committee continues its study on Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). As part of the study, last spring the Committee travelled to British Columbia and the Northwest Territories to meet with stakeholders, experts, and professionals. This fall, the Committee will be traveling to the east coast to continue with this engagement and further its MPA study.
After a busy summer on the South Shore, meeting with constituents, attending community events across the riding, hosting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his beautiful family, and enjoying all that South Shore—St. Margaret’s has to offer, I am looking forward to being back in Ottawa to work hard on behalf of all of my constituents.
I am looking forward to this new opportunity on the Status of Women Committee, and am grateful for all that I get to experience as my responsibilities in the House of Commons evolve. I know that each opportunity offers me a new way to advocate for my constituents, and be your voice in Ottawa.
I will continue to work hard on your behalf, and look forward to seeing you all on the South Shore soon.
